Facebook Page Updates & Tagging

Share with HelloTxt share this!

Since more and more people are turning to Facebook Pages to promote interests, ideas, their art, or their businesses, HelloTxt wants to provide you with tools to get the most out of them. Today we are excited to introduce:

Facebook Page Updates
Administers of Facebook Pages can configure them directly to HelloTxt here to distribute messages, photos, or video links to the Wall of different Pages. This is a great time saver for people that represent different interests or have different communities to speak to via their Pages!

Of course we always want to have an edge on our competition, so Page updates are being announced along with a great new way to organize all of your outgoing posts. Check out:

Tagging
A new feature has popped up in your Settings page! For even more flexibility in the way you post, we added a dead simple way to tag networks and Pages by keywords. You can now write and save your own keywords that act like the Groups for organizing outgoing messages. Eg. prepend your update with #fun and we post only to the social network you tagged with the word fun. Fun right?

Let us know if you enjoy these new features and find them useful, and keep an eye on this blog for more posts coming on new ways to use HelloTxt for your social life online.

Team On The Move

Today was a big day in Milan, and a great networking opportunity for HelloTxt. We were presenting at the first Facebook Developer Garage in Italy where some talented developers even held a 1 hour Facebook app contest to see what inspiration would strike. It was great to meet so many talented and like-minded folks all in one place, and we want to thank everyone who participated.

Following the days activities in Milan, We are heading directly to Bilbao for the European Web 2.0 finalist day! We’ve made it into the final 10 (down from 200!) and are very proud to be a part of the final in-person portion where we meet the panel of judges face to face.

For everyone that voted, thanks for supporting HelloTxt, and we will of course keep you posted on the results!

Ubiquity and the API

Share with HelloTxt share this!

Some days ago we have released the HelloTxt API. One of the firs application borned on it is Ubiquity for HelloTxt.

This application allow you to update your status via Ubiquity. You can found more information about Ubiquity here.

Installation

To use it you need to have Ubiquity installed, get it here. Go to this page to add HelloTxt Commands, and Ubiquity should recognize that there are some commands for it on there. You will see a bar across the top that will allow you to ’subscribe’ to the commands by clicking the ‘Subscribe…’ button that appears. Ubiquity will then present you with a confirmation page with a warning that this is an untrusted source. I give you my word that these commands do nothing to violate your privacy, and only work to allow you to post to HelloTxt via Ubiquity.

You will have to set-up your HelloTxt API user key in order to be able to use this application with your account.

We’ve worked hard these past weeks and are glad to announce just one of the many improvements planned for our next update.

Text is okay, but with Photo or Video it’s awesome!

For this reason we have revamped the multimedia writing feature.

You can now choose from the interesting photos on Flickr or search video on Youtube directly on HelloTxt.Now, when you post a photo through HelloTxt to Tumblr, Meemi, the picture will show right with the post (by next update we will add Pownce, Brightkite, Plurk).

We have also improved the Jabber and have moved it out of the alpha stage.

I would like to thank all the users that have sent feedback to feedback@hellotxt.com or here: feedback, feel free to write to me or follow on Facebook HelloTxt Group
